In what countries will my Adventure Cell phone work?
Adventure Cell provides a global solution for all your travel needs with cell, gsm and satellite phone rentals. Coverage varies by service.


What type of phone should I rent?

Depending on your destination, the phone and service you need will vary. If you are still unsure after viewing our website, feel free to call or email us, and one of our associates will be happy to assist you.


How do I place an order?

After you select the type of phone you wish to rent, print, fill out, and fax back the appropriate online order form/ rental terms, along with a copy of your photo i.d. (either driver’s license or passport is acceptable).


When will I receive my rental phone number?

On the day of shipment, we email your rental phone number. If you require your number further in advance, just let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.


What is GSM?

Global System for Mobile communications is a digital mobile phone system that is the standard in Europe, Asia, parts of the U.S. and overall provides coverage in nearly 200 countries. GSM continues to grow by leaps and bounds.

GSM utilizes the 900Mhz and 1800 Mhz bands found on tri-band and often, dual band phones. If your phone is GSM and capable of functioning on either the 900 and/or 1800 frequency, then your phone will work overseas. If your phone utilizes the 1900 frequency, which we use in the U.S., your phone will not operate overseas.


How do satellite phones work?

The satellite system is the only means of truly global, truly mobile voice and data solutions with complete coverage of the Earth (including oceans, airways and Polar regions). The system works through a constellation of 66 low-earth orbiting (LEO) satellites. Satellite phones deliver essential communications services to and from remote areas where terrestrial communications are not available.


What is a SIM card?

Subscriber Identification Module. The SIM card provides you with a cell phone number and determines what features or services will be available to you, as a subscriber, on a particular GSM network. This basically allows you to switch out your phone, but keep the same phone number along with all the data stored on it. Not all phones require a SIM card. Mostly GSM and satellite phones do.


How do you ship my order?

Adventure Cell’s preferred shipping carrier is Fed Ex. We provide your tracking number on the day the equipment is shipped, so that you can monitor your order, either by entering your tracking number online @ at www.fedex.com or by calling Fed Ex @ 1-800-GO-FEDEX.


Is Saturday delivery available?
Fed Ex provides Next Business Day *Saturday delivery by 12:30 p.m. EST, to most destinations within the U.S. Please call us to verify this type of delivery is available in your area.

How do I return my rental equipment?

Our preferred shipping carrier is Fed Ex. You can drop your package at any Fed Ex location or drop box. Alternatively, you can call Fed Ex (1-800-GO-FEDEX) and schedule a pickup.

You may choose an alternative carrier, in which case, we ask you to properly insure the package and save your receipt until you receive an email confirmation from us (which is sent once our office receives your equipment).

What type of credit cards do you accept?

Adventure Cell accepts Visa, Master Card, Discover, and AMEX.


How much is the deposit?

The deposit is $250 for a USA or GSM phone and $500 for a satellite phone. Adventure Cell charges the deposit to your account 2-3 days before your order is shipped.


What if I don’t have a credit card?

We try our best to accommodate every order, so if you don’t have a credit card, please call or email us, so we can present an alternative method of payment.


When do I get my deposit back?

Approximately 30-60 days after our office receives your equipment and we receive bills from our carriers, we are able to prepare an accurate invoice. At this time, your credit card will be refunded or charged according to the sum of the total rental fees minus your original deposit.


What if I lose my phone?

If your rental phone is lost or stolen, please contact us immediately so that we can suspend service of your rental. You will not be held accountable for any airtime charges accruing after this point.

Insurance is offered with all rentals for an additional fee, however there is a deductible for stolen, lost and damaged phones.
